Hoboken HiFi is more than just a recording studio, it's an atmosphere of creativity, a collection of musicians with big ideas, a haven for good vibes.

This recording studio was started by reggae and dub producer Jim the Boss in 2010 under the name Studio Two Recordings. It was a base of operations for his band, The Something Somethings at the time.  Through this project, he met and formed relationships with bassist Steve Capecci (The Pilfers, Uzimon, Kiwi) and Patrick Meyer (Jeremy & The Harlequins, Top Shotta).  They would go onto serve as the first incarceration of the studio's houseband.

Having moved to an old warehouse turned artist's studios in Hoboken NJ in 2012, they reformed as Hoboken HiFi.  They dreamed of a one stop shop studio that could record and produce quality reggae and dub music for artists worldwide.  They honed their skills and developed their own style and sound.

Two years later, they would gain enough positive feedback which allowed them to move onto to another location which would culminate in making their dreams come true.  Secaucus NJ became their new territory and with it a sound called Hudson Soul.  The Hudson Soul sound is a nod to past Jamaican recordings with a dry, crisp and clear recording quality.  Every sound that is heard on a Hoboken HiFi recording is raw and organic, which comes from the vibes of each musician playing off each other live in one room.  Jim the Boss handpicked each piece of recording equipment or instruments that would compliment the styles of each player.

The studio band has grown and with it they created an identity.  The HiFi Rockers as they are now called.  Steve Capecci on Bass, Mike Torres on Drums and Percussion, Ramsey Norman on Drums, Alex Tea on Guitar, Backing Vocals and Organ and Jim the Boss on Piano and Organ.  The HiFi Rockers have had the fortunate experience to back artists such as B. Davis, Jah Adam, Dave Hillyard and many more.

As Hoboken HiFi is based off the Motown model, where everything is done in house, we offer a multitude of services. Recording, Mixing, Dub Remixes, Riddim creation and licensing, backing band for studio and live work, and many more.
